Nazif Destani is the founder and owner of the Ecolog group of companies, a globally recognized leader in service solutions, and the international investment firm nd group.
In 2007, Nazif Destani transitioned out of a day-to-day role in Ecolog to spend more time on his new global investments projects. Nazif Destani continues to support Ecolog as the Chairman and Founder.
Nazif Destani founded Ecolog almost two decades ago as a business providing support services for international peacekeeping forces such as KFOR, ISAF and related global organizations’ projects during their missions in remote and non-remote locations. Within a short period of time Ecolog, which began as single support-service business, grew quickly into a large enterprise, and today has a broad global presence, with an international team of professionals—more than 12,000-strong—ready to support clients every day, everywhere.
Under Nazif Destani’s leadership, from the early beginnings, Ecolog’s mission has been to offer a wide array of self-performed integrated service solutions providing added value and offering more-cost-effective single-supplier convenience to enable clients to focus on their core mission, while Ecolog takes care of their support. The company is committed to a long-term view, reflected in its industry-leading investment in continuous improvement processes.
Nazif Destani was awarded among other recognitions, the title ‘Dr. Honoris Causa’ by the South East European University in Tetovo for his achievements as an entrepreneur. In addition, Nazif Destani is founder and owner of the international investment company nd group, which invests across a wide range of industries and geographies.
Lieutenant General Steven L Arnold, US Army (Ret), became the first President of Ecolog USA, in September 2007, with a primary role to build Ecolog’s Defense and Government Services sector. As a part of the company’s key executive team he was also involved in the design, structure and implementation of a new operating model of the company to respond to the sector’s intensive growth. Under his guidance and mentorship, the company refined operations to achieve excellence in service delivery.
Before joining Ecolog, Gen. Arnold was the Vice President/Program Manager of LOGCAP III Middle East/Central Asia for KBR. KBR constructed facilities and managed the infrastructure for US Army base camps—everything from beds and food service to laundry, sanitation and utilities. Prior to LOGCAP III, he served with NDC Health, a healthcare information technology services firm. At NDC Health, he managed and consolidated new acquisitions in the USA and UK.
Gen. Arnold served in the United States Army for nearly 35 years, culminating his service in 1997 as the Commanding General of US Army Central Command and Third U S Army.
As Director of the Board for the Defense and Government sector, Gen. Arnold actively supports Ecolog’s strategic corporate initiatives.
Senior Management Committee
Paul Broekhuijsen joined Ecolog in 2015 as Chief Executive Officer. Paul brings extensive experience as CEO and Executive Board member of major companies in the field of Industrial Services, Construction, Technical Installations, and Services; mostly within international markets. Before joining Ecolog, Paul was active as CEO of Hertel Holding, Executive Board Member of TBI Holding, and President of GEA Refrigeration. Also he held various Supervisory Board Memberships, e.g. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vanderlande Industries. Paul holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Ylber Aliu is one of the very first Ecolog employees. He started as Project Manager in Operations, and continued as HR Director, Procurement Director, General Manager Macedonia Office, and Chief of Staff Chairman’s Office. Now Ylber Aliu is the Chief Audit Executive and General Manager of the Macedonian Office. He has also been a Senior Management Committee member for several years. Ylber Aliu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
Roy Griffin joined Ecolog in 2012 as Vice President for Quality & Safety and is a member of the Senior Management Committee of Ecolog. He has gained extensive experience in a wide range of disciplines in Food Logistics, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Leadership. Roy has a strong international background and has held senior positions at Supreme FZE, and has enjoyed a distinguished Military career with the UK Ministry Of Defence. Roy is a Fellow from the Institute of Leadership and Management, and has a BA in Business Studies from the Open University.
Pierre Dié Chachay joined Ecolog in 2012 as Vice President for Marketing & Communications and is a member of the Senior Management Committee of Ecolog. He has more than 20 years’ experience in Marketing, Communications and Business Development, gained on five continents and multiple industries including ICT, Web, Media, Aviation, Industry, Manufacturing, Education, Life Sciences and Clean Technologies. Pierre holds a French Baccalaureate in Economics, is a fellow from the Institute Superior du Commerce (ISC) of Paris a holds a MA in Marketing and Business Administration from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Compiègne.
Besnik Ibraimi joined Ecolog in 2005. In the early days as Project Manager in Operations. After working his way up, he has spent several years now as a member of the Senior Management Committee. Besnik has gained extensive experience during his senior management functions in Project Management, Operations, Construction, and Logistics. He also gained experience prior to working at Ecolog in NATO missions in the Balkans area. Besnik Ibraimi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business English.
Andre Hansen has more than 25 years’ experience in direct connection with the Military, first as a serving officer “Engineering” of the German Army and later within NSPA (NATO Support and Procurement Agency), on the conceptual development, implementation and management of large scale multi-national, NATO-wide operational logistic support solutions (covering logistics, procurement and financial aspects). Andre worked directly on projects in Mali, Kosovo and extensively in Afghanistan, including in Kandahar Airfield, Kabul region and Mazar-E-Sharif.
Sugato Sanyal joined Ecolog in 2011. He is the CFO of the company and a member of the Senior Management Committee of Ecolog. A seasoned finance professional, he has over 25 years of international experience in finance, treasury, and international taxation. Sugato played a key role in the implementation of the SAP system across Ecolog in 2012. He is a Chartered Accountant from India, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Calcutta, India.
Christoph Schafer joined Ecolog Group in 2015 as Chief Supply Chain Officer and is member of the Senior Management Committee of Ecolog. He has gained extensive experience in Global Supply Chain Management, the Food Service Industry, and Real Life Support. He has been active in senior management positions within B&S Kopcke and Ciano Group. Christoph holds a Degree in Economics/Social & Political Science.
Alison Sutcliffe joined Ecolog in 2015 as Chief Legal Officer and is a member of the Senior Management Committee of Ecolog. Alison is a seasoned legal professional with a strong background in commercial contracts and risk management in various industry sectors across the globe. Alison has held senior positions in the oil and gas sector at Cougar Drilling Solutions and J. Ray McDermott, and has also worked in private practice at Clifford Chance LLP and DLA Piper LLP. Alison holds a UK Bachelor of Laws degree and a Master’s Degree in Commercial Laws.
Anthony Comerford joined Ecolog in January 2017 and brings with him over twenty years of International HR experience.
He has held a variety of operational and strategic roles in multinational and multi-site environments and has previously been based in the Middle East, Asia, Eastern Europe, Western Europe and the United Kingdom.
Tony has developed and managed the HR function in a variety of industries including Engineering, Construction, manufacturing and Energy.
Having worked his entire career in international and often remote environments, Tony has vast experience of working with multinational organizations and subsidiary startups. Tony holds a Master Degree in Global Human Resource Management.
