Emirates Knights Press Release
Nazif Destani, Chairman of Ecolog International, today announced that the company, which provides life-support services to organizations working in remote areas and post-conflict zones, and to countries and municipalities experiencing significant growth, will be expanding its global operations to the United Arab Emirates.
“Ecolog has flourished since we established our Head Office in the Dubai Airport Free Zone in 2005,” Nazif Destani said. “We have grown from 1,000 employees to more than 12,000. We are active in 20 countries and creating infrastructure in such growing regions as Macedonia, Iraq and Afghanistan. We want to give back to the UAE and contribute to building the future of this great country that has provided us with so much.
“Dubai’s strategic location and excellent transportation links have supported our growth in neighboring regions. We have been able to leverage Dubai’s capacities as a connectivity hub to expand the company’s capabilities over the years and have become a partner of governments and municipalities to build the kind of infrastructure that transforms communities and nations.”
Ecolog supports the oil & gas and mining industries by providing catering and life-support services in remote locations such as the Gobi desert in Mongolia and the Arctic Circle. The company has provided facility management services such as maintenance, laundry and sanitary services to humanitarian and military missions in post-conflict areas. The company has successfully completed thousands of projects, including engineering and construction projects for the US Army, the German Government, and major engineering construction firms such as KBR, DynCorp and Fluor.
In Macedonia, Ecolog has built highways and designed traffic infrastructure in Tetovo, and established the electrical infrastructure, medium- and low-voltage distribution network, telecommunication network and street lighting in the Gevgelija Industrial Zone. The company has built office buildings in various countries and manages the entire waste management system in the Iraqi cities of Ramadi and Fallujah.
Ecolog established the EcoCity branch of the company to deliver turnkey service solutions to municipalities. EcoCity offers a complete value chain of municipal services, from consulting on the design of recycling systems, to everything—experienced personnel, all types of heavy vehicles, incinerators, recycling plants and public information campaigns—for trash collection, landfill management and grounds-keeping.
Nazif Destani added, “Ecolog has always grown to meet new demands and expanded our services to support our clients. We believe that the very nature of our company makes us an ideal partner for the UAE’s exciting new infrastructure projects, from Dubai 2020, to developments planned on Saadiyat Island, and the ever-growing number of new oil & gas sites under development.”
In the next three months, Ecolog will have the legal company structure in place to conduct business within the UAE.
